If You Love Something Set it Free

You and the love of your life ended the relationship. Typically, one person is more affected by this than the other; one party initiated the split and the other party resisted. Hopefully, the breakup hasn’t been so adversarial that you don’t reach the ‘Can we be friends’ stage. This is the point at which you test “if you love something, set it free: if it comes back it’s yours, if it doesn’t, it never was.” Whether you need to come to terms with the end of a relationship or if you have any hope of rekindling a lost love, this stage in a breakup is a very desirable and necessary step.
